Diablo 2 Remake for Consoles Announced

Activision-Blizzard has announced a remake for Diablo 2 called Diablo 2: Resurrected for the PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch.

The remake is said to contain all the content from the Lord of Destruction expansion. This reportedly includes the quality-of-life improvements and the Assassin and Druid player classes.

The trailer showed off some of the updated graphics and effects as well. They overlayed the new scenes over shots of the original to show how much they’ve upgraded. This also means the new game will be the same resolution as the original, which is 800×600.

Another point to note is that there IS co-op in the game. For eight players, in fact. However, couch co-op isn’t available. So, you and your friends each need a copy of the game, it seems. That being said, it is worth pointing out that the game does save progress across its different platform.

The announcement was the highlight of the online version of BlizzCon 2021.
