Sony has announced that the PlayStation Communities feature on PS4 will soon be removed. It announced that the feature will no longer be available from April onwards.
PlayStation Communities allowed players to form parties, send messages, compare screenshots, etc.
The PlayStation Communities app was removed in March of last year. Sony also removed the ability to create private parties on the PS4.
Though Sony has not given an official reason for why the feature is going away, it has previously done the same thing to other features in older consoles as time went on. These included the ability to make wish lists and purchase games for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita via PC or phone.
The PS5 also does not support PlayStation Communities.
