Feature Perfect

Hello, game-likers. Welcome to another editorial with your favorite (and only) Editor of Emmen Gaming. Today we’re going to talk about a new type of content we will be offering.

It’s called ‘feature articles’. By definition, they are articles which go more in depth into events, people, or issues. They are more freeform than news and can be about any topic.

For instance, they could be about topics like “TopTen Toughest Soulsborne Bosses” or “Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is my childhood” or “Playing Bloodborne changed my life” or “How I used Mario Kart to bond with my family”, and so on.

Basically, it’s just casual and fun articles about all things gaming, told in the author’s own style and in their own words. It’s less like gaming news and more like gaming stories.

We’re hoping that this new type of content will resonate with you and that you can derive new kinds of enjoyment from gaming through them.

Adding onto that, I would also like to mention that we will be working with a few guest writers for our features. They will be coming in at their convenience and dropping the hottest takes of 2021 (or just enjoyable gaming content in general). So keep an eye out for these wandering writers and the content they put out for your enjoyment!

Lastly, it is my sad duty to inform you that we are currently not accepting unsolicited feature writing at the moment. We are just starting out and want to venture into this unfamiliar territory carefully.

If it turns out that you all love features and consume them like the health potions in a tough boss fight, we will consider opening the doors to more community participation. After all, more voices only makes the gaming discourse richer!

For now, this is your notice that some cool stuff is coming your way real soon.

Thank you for all the support so far and we hope you will stick with us as we go on this journey of gaming content creation.

See you in the funny pages!
