Sony has announced that it would be shutting down the PS3, PSP, and PSVita stores.
They will reportedly be shutting down the store on the PS3 on July 2, 2021. The PSP’s remaining purchase functionality also ends the same day.
The PSVita’s store closes on August 27, 2021.
Despite there closure, there is still good news. You can redownload and play previously purchased games, along with media content. You can also redeem game and PlayStation Plus vouchers. You can also redownload and play any freebies you got through PSN, as long as you are still a member.
That being said, there is also a list of things you can’t do anymore. The first on the list is that you can’t buy anymore PS3, PSP, and PSVita games or media. You also cannot make in-game purchases on these consoles. You also cannot redeem PSN wallet vouchers on these consoles.
So this is your last warning, game-likers. If you have games you want to buy on any of these consoles, now is the time to do it. Any DLC, etc that you’ve been meaning to get to is swiftly becoming inaccessible.
We at Emmen Gaming salute these three consoles as they take one more step towards being fully retired. Thank you for all the memories and great experiences.
