Local Rocket League Tournament Announced for April

A local Rocket League tournament called Supersonic has been announced recently.

Described as the evolution of Rocket League eSports in Maldives, the event is brought to us by a group called Glitch Gaming.

The tournament starts on April 15, 2021 and will go on for 20 days. It will also be fully online and will be broadcasted live through YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter.

According to Glitch Gaming, the tournament will have two phases; a group stage and a knockout gauntlet.

Phase 1, also known as the group stage, is a league battle with teams split into 4 groups. It lasts for 14 days and will see two winning teams qualify for the next phase.

Phase 2, also known as the Knockout Gauntlet, is a double elimination round. It is slated to last for 6 days and will see the crowning of the tournament champion.

The winning prize pool for the tournament is MVR 20,000! Glitch Gaming has also said that many more goodies will be announced in the days leading up to the event.

There is also an opportunity for the viewers to win prizes. Glitch Gaming says that there is a chance to win a free pizza Pizza Buona daily for viewers who take part in match predictions. Additionally, Horizon Fisheries will be providing a Daily Assorted Tuna Pack as a prize to be won by viewers who take part in match prediction.

There are 20 slots available for team registration. Notable local eSports teams such as TC Sports Club have reportedly already registered.

Registration closes on April 5, 2021.
