PC gamers certainly know what they like, don’t they? They made their opinions known following the highly anticipated Resident Evil 8’s debut on Steam.
Resident Evil 8 has officially surpassed the player count of all the other games in the series by a wide margin.
The Steam stats page revealed that RE8 is currently among the top 10 most-played games on Steam. It secured itself a position as 9th on the list with over 100,000 concurrent players!
Resident Evil 8 is also the only single player game on the list with the rest of it being made up of titles such as CS: GO, Dota 2, PUBG, GTA5, and Rust.
If you compare RE8’s player count numbers with numbers from other titles in the franchise, it’s not even close. RE7’s peak player count was only 20,499, while RE2 Remake got 74,227 concurrent players and RE3 Remake got 60,293 concurrent players. (Source.)
The game also managed to beat every other game of the series at their peak in terms of views on Twitch. As of this writing, Resident Evil 8 has over 620,000 viewers on Twitch.
The game came out on May 7, 2021. We will be reviewing it soon. Stay tuned!
