In today’s “this is why we can’t have nice things news”, Little Big Planet has taken down its servers temporarily following a series of ongoing attacks by hackers.
According to the LBP Twitter account, they had no choice but to take down the servers, adding that they don’t take the attacks lightly, especially when it targets the loyal players of the game.
The decision came after fans started discovering that hackers were starting to send offensive messages using in-game messages.
Though this is the first time we’re covering this, it isn’t the first time LBP has had server issues. The servers also went down in March, which caused some panic among the users.
At the time, the official twitter account informed the players that the servers were being taken down to test new security updates. These new attacks have impacted the game once again.
Little Big Planet was first released on the PS3 in 2008. It has since spawned 2 sequels and has also made its way onto the PS5 with a spin-off named Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
The fact that someone would want to hack and spread hate in a cute and charming game with a wholesome atmosphere like LBP is very saddening.
We hope the loyal fans of LBP get some good news soon and can enjoy their beloved game in peace in the future.
