We usually don’t cover rumors much on Emmen Gaming but this one was too amusing to leave alone.
It seems that characters from various WB franchises like Rick and Morty, the Justice League, the Looney Tunes, and Scooby Doo will be fighting each other in a Super Smash Bros-like crossover fighting game.
The source of this rumor seems to be an allegedly leaked photo from this so-called game. You can check it out below.
In case the picture has been taken down or is no longer working, some of the characters shown off include:
- Steven Universe
- Batman
- Harley Quinn
- Finn (Adventure Time)
- Jake (Adventure Time)
- Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)
- Superman
- Wonder Woman
- Gandalf
- Rick
- Bugs Bunny
- Tom & Jerry
The rabbit hole goes further. Apparently, the first leak of this rumored game was on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit. You can check out the post here. The post stated that there was a recent trademark of the name “Multiversus”.
GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb said the game is real but is not being developed by Netherrealm Studios like initial rumors claimed.
Grubb went on to talk about the game in a now-deleted video on Giant Bomb, saying that it “looks cheap” and might be free-to-play with new characters being released as DLC.
Also, apparently the first DLC character will be famous WB character, LeBron James. It’s probably due to him being in Space Jam 2 recently.
Warner Bros own a lot of properties like Mad Max, Harry Potter, and Godzilla. So it’s easy to see why people might be excited and want a game like this.
But it’s really too early to say whether the game is real or not.
As fun an idea as Gandalf vs Rick Sanchez vs Batman might be, we should approach this news with caution.
