Emmen Gaming Ramadan Picks

Ramadan Mubarak gamers! We have been spending some time with new releases and revisiting some old titles this Ramadan.

Let’s have a look at some of our favorite games that we’ve been playing so far this Ramadan.

Elden Ring

Like many of you out there, we have been putting in a fair amount of time traversing the Lands Between and taking on it’s challenges.

The open world of Elden Ring offers much to explore, varying from beautiful green vistas to deserted locations like the dreaded Caelid. Each of these different locations presents players with harsh enemies and challenges of their own.

Elden Ring was released in February 25, 2022 PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Here is our full review of the game.

Horizon Forbidden West

We have been eagerly waiting for Alloy’s next adventure since the announcement of Horizon Forbidden West.

What we really like about this game is the improvement in almost all the areas in comparison to it’s predecessor.

Ramadan is an especially good time to pick up this game to explore it’s massive map with different weather conditions and different environments.

Horizon Forbidden West came out on February 18, 2022. We were concerned that this title would get overshadowed by the release of Elden Ring almost a week later. However, Horizon Forbidden West proved to be a masterpiece on it’s on and we are having a blast with it, even after completing the main storyline.

Here is our full review of the game.

Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition

If you’re a fan of classic JRPG titles, chances are that you might already have heard of this title.

Playing Chrono Cross is a very nostalgic experience for us. The Radical Dreamers Edition suffers from some amount of frame rate dips and weird over glossed textures at certain areas, but overall we are having an amazing time with this game on Nintendo Switch so far.

If you’ve playing Chrono Cross before, this version offers new quality of life improvements like Refined character illustrations, auto-battle function and also RADICAL DREAMERS – Le Trésor Interdit – released in 1996 as a standalone title that explores an alternate story of our beloved heroes Serge, Kid and Magil.

If you haven’t played Chrono Cross, Radical Dreamers Edition is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the most beloved JRPGs of all time

Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition was released in April 7, 2022. Stay tuned for our full review of the game coming soon!

Doraemon Story of Seasons

Developed by the team behind Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Doraemon Story of Seasons is the perfect game if you are looking to just sit back and enjoy a slice of life game.

When Harvest Moon: Back to Nature came out in 1999, we were huge fans of the game. Playing Doraemon Story of Seasons that offers the same gameplay options with Ghibli like visuals is enough to put a smile on our faces while we tend to our farming duties and interacting with witty and fun characters in the lovable land.

Doraemon Story of Seasons was released in October 11, 2019. Stay tuned for our Doraemon Story of Seasons review!

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

We had some initial concerns regarding Stranger of Paradise after the initial trailer. However, after playing through the demo of the game on the PS5 most of our concerns were put to rest, at least from a gameplay perspective it was fairly enjoyable.

After playing through Stranger of Paradise completely we are happy to report that Square Enix delivered with this unique approach to a classic Final Fantasy title. While storyline may not be the biggest strength of the game the combat of Stranger of Paradise is very engaging and very enjoyable. You could say that this is equivalent to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the Final Fantasy franchise.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin was released March 10, 2022 for consoles and PC.
