Local gaming media Emmen Gaming (that’s us!) has officially partnered up with telecom giant Ooredoo as part of its international gaming platform, Ooredoo Nation.
Ooredoo Nation was launched at a special event held at Dharubaaruge. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Adbulla Mausoom. The management of Ooredoo Maldives and members of the local gaming community were present.
As mentioned before, Ooredoo Nation is an international gaming platform. Simply put, it aims to bring everything related to gaming onto one platform.
One of the features of the platform that really caught our eye was the ability to buy gift cards for a wide variety of platforms including iTunes, Nintendo eShop, and the PlayStation Network. This will definitely be a big help to local gamers by reducing the number of hoops we need to jump through to do some online purchasing.
Another useful feature is that gamers can directly activate Ooredoo mobile data packs for widely played games such as PUBG, Garena Free Fire, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, Roblox, etc.
In addition to selling gift cards and data packs, the platform will also be hosting local and international tournaments.
As such, the first tournament they have lined up was announced last night. It was a PUBG tournament called “PUBG Mobile” and boasts a prize pool of MVR 100,000! This might be one of the highest prize pools up for grabs locally.
Ooredoo Nation is also a place for gamers to get clued in on the latest news and updates of the games industry. And that’s where we come in!
You will be able to read articles by the Emmen team on Ooredoo Nation dealing with the ebb and flow of the games industry.
In addition to Emmen Gaming, Ooredoo also partnered up with Game Room, VR Café, and E2S Gaming.
Local game developers Loopcraft and Arcils were also present at the event. We got hands-on experience with Little Island Adventure by Loopcraft. (First impressions article coming soon!)
We would like to take this moment to congratulate Ooredoo on the successful launch of its platform and appreciate the work it is doing to promote gaming and gamers locally.
