The Polish developer of the controversial Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red, has announced the first major expansion of the game.

Dubbed “Phantom Liberty”, the expansion will only be released on PC and next gen consoles. So if you own a PS5, an Xbox Series console, or a Stadia, you’re in luck.

The announcement was made as part of the Night City Wire livestream, which streamed on their Twitch stream yesterday.

This expansion is notable for being the first new content to come to the game outside of the various patches and bug fixes the game required following its disastrous launch.

The announcement came with a short trailer which shared some story details and a release date; 2023. Another notable point was the return of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand.

During the stream, developer also announced some other DLC content which has since been released. This update concerns the new Cyberpunk anime, Edgerunners.

This anime is being produced by Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Promare, Star Wars: Visions) and will be released on September 13, 2022.

Meanwhile, the DLC will see players take control of the protagonist of the anime for some story-based content, outside the main story of Cyberpunk 2077.
