The highly anticipated sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has finally been announced!
The new game will be dubbed, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and is slated for release on May 12, 2023.
The reveal was made during the Nintendo Direct which took place this week and showed off exploration, new stasis powers, and a broken down version of Hyrule. We still don’t know why it is this way.
A press release for the game confirmed that there will be floating islands above Hyrule, adding a new sense of verticality to the game and its world.
The game was initially supposed to be released in 2022, but has been pushed back to 2023. The producer of the series, Eiji Aounuma asked the players to be a little more patient as the team was hard at work to make the game experience something special.
You can check out the trailer for the game below.
Since the release of Breath of the Wild, there have been many imitators but only one original. We are really looking forward to getting our hands on Tears of the Kingdom and exploring Hyrule again.
That being said, this was not the only exciting announcement made at the event. We also got a gameplay deep dive for Bayonetta 3, the announcement of Octopath Traveler 2, and Pikmin 4.
Another announcement of note was the story trailer for God of War: Ragnarok. It was amazing. You can check it out below.
