Riot Launches SEA Servers for League and TFT

Riot Games launched the long awaited South East Asia servers for the popular online games, League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics.

Previously, the publishing rights for League and TFT for SEA region was handled by Garena since 2010. However, Riot has started self publishing both the titles for SEA region starting January 6th this year.

The announcement was made by Riot games last November.

“After a 12-year partnership with Garena, Riot Games will begin self-publishing League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics across Southeast Asia in January 2023. In the years since Riot first released League in 2009, the game has become a favorite for players in Southeast Asia.” the official announcement reads.

The company also iterates that they will be opening up new offices in key locations including Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. This is being done in order to establish a stronger presence in the region.

Existing TFT and League players in Garena were given option to migrate to official servers using the account migration microsite starting 18th November, 2022.


Riot Games is hosting Welcome Events for players migrating from other servers from January 13 till February 21 on League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics.

Players who want to migrate to SEA server from other regions can choose to transfer their account for 1 Blue Essence via the in-game Store settings.
