The E3 event planned for June 2021 has been cancelled. According to a report published by the Board of Los Angeles Convention and Tourism Development Commission, a sales update listed E3 2021 as a cancelled event.
This is the second time E3 is getting cancelled in a row due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Companies such as EA, Sony and Activision have already abandoned the E3 event prior to 2020 cancellation and started hosting their own digital events since then.

“We can confirm that we are transforming the E3 experience for 2021 and will soon share exact details on how we’re bringing the global video game community together,” an ESA spokesperson said. “We are having great conversations with publishers, developers and companies across the board, and we look forward to sharing details about their involvement soon.”
While many are assuming that the E3 live event will be returning digitally this year, ESA has yet to confirm the cancellation of the live event.
